The bagels here are seriously top-notch—I toasted them at home and made my own schmear, and they were absolutely perfect. I especially loved the everything bagel flavor—super flavorful and satisfying. The service was fine—nothing to rave about, but no complaints either. My biggest gripe? Having to pay 7.50 to park for less than 10 minutes. That definitely stung. Street parking might be a cheaper option, but that’s if you can even find a spot. Still, the bagels are worth it. Just plan ahead for parking and get there early if you want your pick of flavors—they do sell out!
S/O to B-Side’s bagel! It was my first time to Freedom Farmer’s Market and my attention was immediately drawn to those gorgeous tempting Everything Bagel at B Side. I’ve been wanting to go to their store location but haven’t got the chance so I was really excited to see them at the farmer’s market Got myself an everything and made it to a brunch plate back to my crib. It’s DELICIOUS, everything on the everything smell sooooo goooood, and I will definitely go to the store. Btw S/O to the awesome crew working at farmers today super chill and nice
Friendly staff, nice fresh menu. I had the oatmeal cookie sandwich (like a whoopie -but better with home-made oatmeal cookies w/vanilla cream frosting inside:))...give them a try when nearby, worth the visit) ...
One of my favorite spots in Decatur mainly due to the staff. The shop is small so there’s limited seating. Bagels are a hit so come early if you want the best pick. I always go with the Lox Bagel and a seasonal coffee
B-Side hands down has the BEST breakfast sandwiches and bagels I have had to date! The chicken sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel is a 100/10. The quality and freshness of their eggs and bagel were unparalleled. Absolutely will be back! Love this place! I highly recommend!
Fantastic quality bagels with a nice char and crunch. The shmears are made in-house and very tasty. I ordered a few items - Plain bagel with garlic shmear, very good quality and fresh. Highly recommend any of their bagels and shmears. Brown butter tart with various fruits. Very good as well. A croissant with vanilla custard and blackberries. The pastry itself was extremely light and flaky and paired great with the custard and berries, and a slight amount of mint on top was good as well. This was great as well, but the tart was better. Then I had the "beast of burden" pounder. A light sandwich featuring shaved beef tongue, provolone, saurkraut, and horseradish. The meat was lacking with a very thin layer. You're mostly getting bread and cheese in every bite with a very slight tang from the saurkraut and horseradish (wish they were stronger flavor wise). For 16, I don't think I'd order this again unless they doubled the meat. Overall, it is a very high-quality bakery. I also got a couple of scones (recommend) to bring home, and any of their cookies are fantastic as well. The space is a little tight, and people seem to think it's okay taking an entire table for two hours while they play games on their laptops. There's not much in terms of seating.
Finally got to try the famous B-Side Bagels! Nested in Decatur Square, this particular venue is surrounded by lots of greenery, both from the plants outside and from the vividly green decor inside. I didn’t realize this place is also the “sister” bakery of the next-door The Deer and the Dove; that speaks very highly of this venue given the coveted Michelin-recommended status the restaurant itself has. Since B-Side is infamous for selling out of bagels quickly, it was my fault coming in late on a sunny weekend day. As a result, I was left ordering The Veggie on a Sea Salt Bagel. Although not my first bagel choice, the various fillings packed into this predefined vegan sandwich option had a delightful flavor profile! And, as any bagel sandwich is, this was perfectly filling. 10/10 would recommend this place! I would love to return (much earlier in the day) to try the Everything Bagel and their coffee - my friend’s Iced Lavender Latte was phenomenal!
Fantastic cafe and bakery located in Decatur Square. Owned by the same team as Deer & Dove. The smell of bagels and pastry enveloped the restaurant. Practically every table had a bagle. There were plenty of pastry options and refrigerated sides. This place got pretty busy. There were limited tables and some seats along the bar. We went for an early lunch and enjoyed the chopped cheese and reuben sandwiches. The bread on both sandwiches were aromatic and toasted well. The potato soup-of-the-day was a comforting side. The chocolate chip cookie had a classic taste. We asked a staff member to make their go-to drink for us. We really enjoyed the Golden Yunnan tea with oat milk and simple syrup. Would get again!!
